They spoke on solving disputes between neighbours. Trees, fences, pets, noise and people’s behaviour are the usual causes of these disputes. Anglicare in partnership with The Latrobe Valley Rights Centre, provides a free and confidential mediation service, to help people resolve their disagreements. The Rights Centre operates from the Anglicare office at 162 Commercial Road, Morwell. Phone 5135 9555 Neighbourhood Watch Concert:This year’s Neighbourhood Watch Concert will be held at Kernot Hall on 25th July. Doors open at 7pm, concert commences at 7.30pm. Tickets are $7.00 each and can be obtained from Carmen on 5134 1920 or your Zone Leader. Scams:Protect Your Computer. Þ Install security software that protects your computer from viruses and other malicious programs. Þ Use a "firewall" to protect your computer from intruders. Þ Make sure all your software is kept up to date, including web browser applications. Þ Enable the "auto update" function in e-security and other software. Þ Do not open suspicious or un solicited emails (spam). Delete them! Þ Do not click on any links in a spam email or open any files attached to them. Clicking on links may install harmful programs without you knowing. Þ Never reply to a spam email. Þ Never call a telephone number that you see in a spam email. Þ Be wary of unexpected "pop-up boxes"__ Following the links in these boxes may install malicious software on your computer. Þ Avoid using public computers (at libraries or internet cafes) to do tour internet banking. It is very dangerous! Þ Do not use software on your computer that completes online forms. This can give internet scammers easy access to your personal and credit card details. Þ Use long and random passwords that would be difficult for anyone else to guess. Red Cross Winter Blood Challenge 2007:Winter is always a challenging time for the Australian Red Cross for two reasons: 1. There is generally a greater demand for blood as it tends to be the peak time for elective surgery, in addition to those who need it for chronic conditions. 2. There is generally a reduced supply of blood as even their more regular donors can be deferred, due to seasonal colds and flues. Donating blood to this important service is something Neighbourhood Watch has been involved in each year. The process is simple.
