Small Business Workshop Details Strategic Business PlanningAn innovative series of workshops designed to assist all small to medium business operators, and anyone equally interested in establishing a small business in the fundamentals of strategic business planning, By Latrobe City - 28th September 2007 - Back to News will be conducted by Latrobe City Council during October.
Latrobe City senior business development officer, Leo Billington, said that these workshops, being offered for the first time as a result of many requests from business operators, are designed to assist and guide business operators with effective, strategic business planning skills so vital for making smart decisions.
"Running a business requires a great deal of preparation and prior planning. There are many who have the keen desire to be their own boss and therefore should be careful to protect valuable financial and human resources invested in any business. However, the excitement and enthusiasm of being in business, or starting a new business, can in some situations be overshadowed by the lack of a well documented business strategy," Mr Billington said.
"These four workshops will for example, assist business people to develop growth targets and define what is effective marketing. Key features of a marketing strategy will be critically evaluated alongside ways to assess business progress and how to be flexible in setting future plans for business continuity.
"Overall, the sequence of four workshops deals with the essential elements of detained business planning to ensure that investment in a business is protected. Ultimately, business owners and managers need to be attentive to the concept and practicalities of strategic business planning," Mr Billington said.
This intensive series of workshops is funded by the Minister for Consumer Affairs from the Victorian Property Fund and coordinated by the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development as the ‘Under New Management’ program.
The Strategic Business Planning Workshop will be delivered across four related sessions commencing on Thursday 4 October and then on 10, 17 and 25 October. Each session commences at 6.30 pm through until 10pm. The total cost is $200 with refreshments being available at each session.
Bookings are essential. For further information, please contact Leo Billington on 0407 541 258.
