Latrobe City’s systems librarian, Claire Wood, said that as part of local and family history week, Latrobe City libraries will hold information sessions for those interested in genealogy.

"The sessions titled ‘Starting from seed: how to research your family history’, will focus on basic methods of researching family history and will provide an overview of the family history resources that are available locally and via the internet.

"Our libraries are a wonderful resource for anyone interested in researching their family’s roots and these sessions are designed for beginners who have just started their journey into the past," Ms Wood explained.

‘Starting from seed’ will run at Saturday 1 August at Churchill Library; Sunday 2 August at Traralgon Library; Monday 3 August at Moe Library and Thursday 6 August at Morwell Library. All sessions begin at 2pm.

For further information about the sessions or to register attendance for catering purposes, please contact your local library - Moe Library on 5135 8350, Churchill Library on 1300 367 700, Traralgon Library on 5176 3630 and Morwell Library on 5128 5436.
