Free performances in East Gippland from Colorado Children's Chorale and California Fullerton University Singers
The internationally acclaimed Colorado Children's Chorale, founded in 1974, boasts performances in the White House, the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London and more.
In a celebration of East Gippsland's community spirit and resilience, prominent youth choir the Colorado Children's Chorale and award-winning vocal ensemble California State University Fullerton's University Singers will perform free community recovery concerts at Bairnsdale's Forge Theatre and St Brendan's Primary School Hall in Lakes Entrance in June and July.
With a repertoire ranging from opera and musical theatre to choral compositions in classical, folk and popular traditions, the Chorale performs with a passionate and joyful theatrical spirit
Passionate supporters
The council-backed all-ages performances are brought to the stage by Forge Theatre and ACFEA Tour Consultants. ACFEA's national managers, Robert and Jenny Latimer, are proud East Gippslanders and passionate supporters of the arts who have been bringing international talent to the region for two decades. Council thanks the Latimers for their generous support.
"These events provide a fantastic opportunity to reconnect as a community after a challenging couple of years. Council thanks the Chorale, the University Singers and ACFEA for their generosity. The concerts offer the perfect way to unwind and relax while celebrating a return to life out of lockdown," Mayor Cr Mark Reeves said.
The University Singers, directed by Grammy Award winner Dr Robert Istad, have performed throughout the world and regularly perform with professional orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Acclaimed for their exquisite musicianship, the University Singers boast performances with Andrea Bocelli and an album with composer John Williams.
