Ms. Marg Lynn, Senior Lecturer in Social Welfare, will be speaking about the "Discourses of Community" on 28 August from 1-2 p.m. in the Link Room. The presentation will explore the understanding of what is meant when discussing community issues and what the language could mean for communities who are trying to get assistance, including government funding. The presentation is part of the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences (HUMCASS) ongoing research forum program.

Allan Russell, Chief of Staff at Channel 10, will be speaking to journalism students at the Berwick Campus on August 27 at 9 a.m. about his experiences, cadetship programs and the future of digital TV.

• Making the Grade

Geoffrey Dupree’s Central Australian landscapes will be on exhibition at the Switchback Gallery. The opening of the Exhibition will be Tuesday 26, August at 5.30 p.m. and will run until 2 October. The Switchback Gallery is located in the Centre of Art and Design at Monash University, Gippsland Campus.

International musician Zheng-Ting Wang will be headlining the free lunch-time concert at Monash University Gippsland Campus on Monday August 25. Starting at 1.10 p.m. in the Hexagon Theatre, Mr. Wang will play the Sheng, a Chinese mouth organ with three thousand years history. Mr. Wang will be accompanied by Mark Ellite on computer, to bring together Eastern and Western culture as well as tradition and technology.
