Ooh La La, It's The Mayoral BallThis year’s Charity Ball will transport revellers to the French countryside. By Bass Coast - 15th August 2011 - Back to News The Le Chic Mayoral Ball will be held on Friday, 21 October 2011 and will see the Wonthaggi Town Hall receive a French provincial make-over. Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman, the host of this year’s Ball said the success of previous events meant there were big expectations for this year’s celebration.
"In previous years, the Ball has taken us to India, Asia and even into a cabaret club," said Cr Dowman. "This year, anyone coming along can expect to be part of a rustic country ball with a French flavour and I am very proud to be hosting this wonderful evening.
"The Mayoral Charity Ball is a community charity event in support of the Bass Coast Community Foundation. All proceeds raised go directly to the Foundation, which supports projects within Bass Coast that enrich and strengthen the community. "The success of the Ball relies on the generosity of corporate sponsors, local community and volunteers," said Cr Dowman.
"The Charity Ball is one of the most popular events on Council’s social calendar, and we need sponsors to register now to be a part of this special night for a good cause." Sponsorship registrations are open from Tuesday, 16 August to Tuesday, 30 August 2011. Four levels of sponsorship are available: Gold - $3,300, Silver - $2,750, Bronze - $1,750, and Support - $750.
Securing a ticket! "Last year’s Ball tickets sold out in three days and we had a waiting list of over 100," Cr Dowman said. "We know people were disappointed to miss out, but unfortunately the size of the venue dictates the number of tickets that are available. "This year, tickets will be allocated by a ballot. There has been such an overwhelming response in previous years and we believe this is the fairest system.
The ticket ballot is open from Friday, 16 September to Friday, 23 September 2011. For sponsorship or ticket ballot information visit Council’s website, contact Samantha Bennett or Shirley Egan s.bennett@basscoast.vic.gov.au or call 1300 BCOAST (226 278). photograph: Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman gets in the mood for the Mayoral Charity Ball
