The opening will tie in with Callignee’s Australia Day Celebration that will be presented by Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Darrell White
Others in attendance include representatives of the Callignee CFA, the Callignee Hall Committee, Gunyah Ward councillor Ed Vermeulen, and Alstom Foundation
Those present at the event will be available for interview
The new centre was built to replace the former Callignee Hall, the former school building and the local fire station that were destroyed in the Black Saturday bushfires.
The opening will be incorporated into the Australia Day celebrations that will take place on the centre’s grounds from 11am to 4pm.
