Parents to learn how to avoid getting caught in the webBy Latrobe City Council - 2nd June 2005 - Back to News The Latrobe City Library Service is presenting an information session for parents, ‘Researching on the Internet’, at 7pm on Wednesday 8 June at the Traralgon Library. The information session invites parents to expand their Internet capabilities and avoid getting entangled in the mass of available information.
Traralgon Library coordinator, Claire Wood, who will be conducting the session, said ‘Researching on the Internet’ is focused on providing parents with some skills to help their children use the Internet.
"While many people find the Internet a useful resource, you can get caught with results that are not on topic or not appropriate for children, or you simply get side tracked from your original search because of the vast amount of information given," Ms Wood said.
"This session will take parents through the maze of information to discover what the Internet is, how they can search through the information by utilising the useful tools available, and how to get the results that they need.
The session will be conducted in the Traralgon Library Meeting Room. For bookings and information, telephone the Traralgon Library on 5176 3630.
