Operation Clampdown is coming to MorwellWarning: record numbers of police heading to Morwell By Brett Tippet - 13th May 2003 - Back to News Warning: record numbers of police heading to Morwell. This is an advance warning to people who live in Morwell. In the coming weeks, record numbers of police will be patrolling the Morwell streets and back roads. Tell your friends, as police will be specifically looking for drivers who:
* speed, * drink-drive, * use hand-held mobile phones while driving, and * aren't wearing a seatbelt.
In the Morwell area there were 4 deaths and 31 serious injuries on the roads between July 2001 and June 2002. If just 20 lives are affected by each of these casualties, then 700 friends and family members have also suffered unnecessarily - you might have been one of them.
Help yourself, your friends and your community, and spread the word: Operation Clampdown is coming to Morwell.
