Mrs Whitelaw’s WarEach person has a story to tell. The remarkable story of Mrs Whitelaw will be presented by Linda Barraclough and Jeremy Hales from Maffra Historical Society at the Maffra Library. By Wellington Shire Council - 30th March 2006 - Back to News Mrs Whitelaw, from Briagolong farewelled six sons to fight in World War I, three died in action, another died of wounds- only two returned.
Later she had a seventh son who was enlisted for World War II
How does a mother cope with seven sons all sent off to war?
The presentation will be at the Maffra library at 1.30pm, Tuesday 4 April.
The event is free and afternoon tea will be supplied. Bookings are preferred but not essential.
