Caravan Burlesque Workshops for AllCaravan Burlesque is coming to town with performances and a chance to be a part of the unique world of burlesque. By Bass Coast - 11th May 2012 - Back to News Caravan Burlesque is a part of Creative Gippsland Festival 2012 which is on now and through May.
The Caravan Burlesque troupe are holding their own performances in the evenings on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May and on the same weekend they are taking workshops to share burlesque performance techniques. The workshops will be held across the Shire in Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Cowes.
Bass Coast Shire Council Community and Economic Development Director, Steven Piasente said Council is pleased to support this key event of the Festival.
"We are pleased to have such internationally renowned artists in our midst, who will a teach workshop participants creative skills learned from all over the world. The workshops are varied and no qualifications are needed to participate in this fun and inspiring program. They are varied and an ideal opportunity to try some thing new," said Mr Piasente.
The program includes Bollywood with Paul Cordeiro, one of Sydney’s hottest dance teachers, whose resume includes being resident choreographer of the Lion King and Associate Choreographer of the Sydney Olympics. There is also a class in Improvisation into Acting held with Maude Davey a renowned Victorian College of the Arts drama and voice teacher.
For an aerobic workout and a lot of fun, try a class in Hula Hoops from the Darling of European Circus and Spiegeltents, the pocket rocket Anna Lumb. Anna will be joined by Sosina Wogayeha to go through the basics of the ancient art of Hula Hoops at Wonthaggi Primary School Gym. To book for either of these workshops Phone Khaseem on 0430 091 574.
There is also a workshop where you can learn a unique form of painting incorporating masking using latex, run by Kamahi Djordon King (Jungala) an award winning visual artist, singer and carabet star. To confirm your spot in this exciting workshop contact PICAL phone 5952 1131.
These unique workshops are open to people with all skills levels so it is a chance to experience something new and tap into the creative world of Burlesque.
