Engraving Personal Property:Engraving your personal property with your Driver’s Licence number, with the letter V in front means that the property can be traced back to you from anywhere in Australia. The property marking is carried out by an engraver or ultra-violet pen. Property so marked is less attractive to criminals because it can be easily identified as being stolen. Engravers can be borrowed from NHW on 5134 3071 Remember! always report any suspicious incidents to the Police by dialling 000 (triple zero) Child Safety:Some children’s cots have not been made with safety in mind. The bars on the sides should not be wide enough apart to allow a small child’s head to fit between them. The mattress and base should not have gaps at the sides that will allow small arms or legs to slip into the gaps. The cot should be stable and not rock easily. A cot with wheels should have locks on the wheels so they can be locked if necessary to prevent the wheels turning. If the wheels cannot be locked, consider removing them. A determined infant in a cot with unlocked wheels, can by rocking the cot, move it from one side of the room to the other. Police Crime Report for Dec. 2005& Jan. 2006 N.H.W.
