Read the full article By Portal Admin - 26th August 2016 - Back to News Agriculture minister Jaala Pulford opened our annual conference and presented the inaugural Margaret Norwood agribusiness ambassador scholarship to Breanna Downes-Smith.
A former student of Kurnai College at Churchill, she has chosen a career in agriculture after completing a Bachelor of Medical Bioscience.
Addressing the Agribusiness Gippsland conference she explained how work experience with the Agriculture Victoria's Best Wool Best Lamb team altered her career aim from being a haematologist to that of becoming a production animal vet. She has done placement at Sichuan University, China, she is a volunteer VCE science teacher at Kurnai College, a project fire fighter and a member of the Gippsland Obedience Dog Club. The $500 scholarship is to honour Margaret Norwood, the late wife of one of our long-serving directors. Margaret was always a valued member of the Agribusiness Gippsland team at our annual conferences - ensuring first-class check-ins at the registration desk.
