Staff from the Access Department will be at Midvalley Shopping Centre in Morwell on Tuesday 28th January and at Purvis Plaza in Moe on Thursday 30th January. Certificates in General Education can help you to improve your reading or writing and are qualifications for adult students. The certificates are for adults who may have left school early or had a disrupted education, or want to improve their reading, writing, speaking, maths and general education and are suitable for people born in Australia and overseas. The certificates can help students get a job, promotion or help them get into a tertiary course. English as a Second Language (ESL) is designed to help migrants of non-English speaking backgrounds overcome the language and cultural barriers which place them at a disadvantage in Australia. Classes are held at the Yallourn and Morwell Campuses, the Migrant Resource Centre in Morwell and Traralgon Neighbourhood House and there are a large range of textbooks, cassettes and videos to help students achieve a better level of English. For more information about any of these GippsTAFE courses, please contact Heather Cupples at the Community Access Department on 5127 0277 or visit www.gippstafe.vic.edu.au.
