Send your thoughts and have your say Recreational Vehicle (RV) Friendly accreditation in Orbost from 31 March to 23 April Accreditation as significant stepMayor, Cr Mark Reeves said RV Friendly accreditation is a significant step, and council was keen to understand the views of residents and business operators. "You will be able to have your say through a survey on council's engagement portal from 31 March to 23 April. Hard copy surveys will also be available from our customer service centres." The survey will ask questions about if you support RV Friendly accreditation, and possible locations for free or low cost overnight stays by RVs. Typically, RVs are self-contained and accreditation only requires facilities for such self-contained vehicles rather than camping more generally. Have your sayCr Reeves said, "Orbost meets or can readily meet many of the criteria. One of the key areas is the provision of a free or low cost overnight stay area for about 10 RVs within walking distance of the commercial centre of Orbost." "RV Friendly accreditation and the establishment of a free or low-cost camping area also needs to consider impacts (if any) on the existing caravan park in Orbost. The existing caravan park lease concludes later in the year at which point council would expect a new expression of interest process will be undertaken." Cr Reeves said.
