One Stop Shop: Call 1300 137 218 A central phone number has been set up for flood affected residents. By Wellington Shire Council - 4th July 2007 - Back to News "This number has been set up to provide comprehensive information about the many services available to flood affected residents," said Glenys Butler, Municipal Recovery Manager for the Wellington Shire Council.
"We would strongly encourage residents to call the number to access information and to register for assistance," said Mrs Butler.
The help line number is 1300 137 218. The information line will open at 10 am tomorrow (Wednesday, 4 July).
Information and services available include financial assistance, material aid, hard waste disposal and the pumping of septic tanks and other public health issues.
These services are provided by many different organisations, including the Wellington Shire Council, Centrelink, Department of Human Services (DHS), Lifeline, the Salvation Army and St Vincent De Paul, Kilmany Family Care and Churches.
Landowners seeking information and assistance for farms should contact Department of Primary Industries recovery information line - 1800 729 834.
