OVERVIEW
Gippsland Development Ltd (GDL) is a regional development body formed to be a catalyst for economic development across the Gippsland region linking the efforts of participating Shires and the private sector at state, national and international levels.
The establishment of Gippsland Development Ltd in August 1995 has brought with it a revived era of regional cooperation through greater mutual recognition of the inter-dependence of Gippsland's component sub-regions and industries.
GDL brings together the expertise of representatives from government, business and commerce, post secondary education and training institutes and other regional organisations. GDL's primary role is to provide a framework within which key regional stakeholders can work together to facilitate the future economic development of Gippsland.
GDL is a public company supported by participating Shires and the private sector, working in association with both State and Federal governments to advance major industry development projects. Its operations are directed by the Gippsland Regional Development Strategy to the year 2010 to achieve significant wealth creation and higher productivity across the region.
The GDL philosophy maintains that excellence is not only the final result but a continual process of providing best service at all times. To this end, GDL strives to ensure that the service and advice delivered to our clients is of the highest calibre.
