Stormwater drainage $85,000 renewal at Pioneer Bay commenced on 3 March 2023
Bass Coast Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Wiltrack Earthmoving Pty Ltd as part of our annual supply contract for the drainage renewal works behind 45 Sonia Crescent.
The Stormwater Drainage Renewal at Pioneer Bay project is expected to commence week ending 3 March 2023 and be completed by late March 2023, subject to favourable weather conditions. The total cost of the project is estimated to be approximately $85,000 and is part of the council's 2022/23 Capital Works Program. The drainage renewal works are an essential part of the Stormwater Drainage Renewal Program under the 2015 Drainage Services Asset Management Plan.

Upgrading stormwater drainage
The project will ensure delivery of the adopted Community Service levels and help manage stormwater runoff and flows of the catchment within the designated drainage reserve area. As part of the project, Wiltrack Earthmoving Pty Ltd will remove redundant and damaged drainage pipes and structures behind property 45 Sonia Crescent. They will also:
- Construct a junction pit
- Install underground stormwater pipes
- Drainage outlet structure with rock bags
- Carry out erosion protection and re-establishment works using rock bags
- Connect existing house drainage connections to the new junction pit
The contractor will take all necessary measures to minimise disruptions to property owners. Appropriate site control measures will be implemented onsite during these works. However, please note that the construction zone will be restricted for safety reasons. Our staff and contractor will notify nearby residents that may be impacted by these works.
Project updates
The community, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders will be kept up to date with the project via website updates, letter box drops or mail outs where appropriate. Council would like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and understanding during the works.
