Baw Baw Shire Council meeting snapshot - 13 October 2021
On Monday 11 October, Council held an additional Council Meeting to consider the scope, budget and potential funding options of the Baw Baw Civic Precinct.
To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council's Monday 11 October and Wednesday 13 October Council meetings.

Baw Baw Civic Precinct Stage 1
Council adopted a revised funding model within the Long Term Infrastructure Plan for the construction of Stage One of the Baw Baw Civic Precinct Masterplan, which includes a multi-use community precinct including a state-of-the-art library, community hub, cultural space and plaza in the heart of Warragul.
Vibrant communities
Included in the meeting on Wednesday 13 October were:
- Tender Award - Contract 2020043 Civil and Ancillary Works Panel. Council accepted a number of tenders submitted for inclusion on the Civil and Ancillary Works Panel
- Naming of the Trafalgar Multi-use Pavilion, Council, having considered the submissions received from the community and feedback from the Place Names Advisory Committee
Council endorsed the name of "Turra Pavilion" for the Trafalgar Multi-use Pavilion and approved Council Officers to arrange for the installation of appropriate signage at the Pavilion.
Thriving economy
Council endorsed the Draft Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategy 2022-2025 and will commence community consultation from 15 October 2021 to 15 November 2021.
Financial Report and Performance Statement for the year ended 30 June 2021
Council approved the Annual Financial Report for the year ended 30 June 2021 and the Performance Statement 2020/21; and nominated Mayor Danny Goss and Councillor Michael Leaney to be authorised to sign each statement in their final form.
In line with COVID-19 restrictions across Victoria, Council will be limiting attendance of its Council meetings. Continuing with the Wednesday 27 October 2021 Council Meeting:
- Only essential officers and Councillors will attend Council Meetings
- There will be no public access/gallery attendance at Council Meetings
Meetings will remain available to the public via live stream, and community submissions can be made in writing. The agenda for the next meeting will be available online the Friday prior to the meeting.
