Ensuring access
Mr Chester said, "Both stations will also have new second platforms and a crossing loop extension at Morwell to allow trains to pass each other. Community consultation was undertaken to ensure the user experience was at the forefront of design and catered to the needs of our local communities."
"The Gippsland Line Upgrade will ensure local public transport is accessible and reliable for locals and those making the commute to Melbourne regularly. Gippsland is a great place to live and raise a family and our public transport must meet the needs of the community and provide a convenient and easy connection between metropolitan and regional communities." Mr Chester said.
Major construction at both stations is expected to reach completion in late 2022. The Gippsland Line Upgrade is jointly funded by the Federal Government and the Victorian state government. To view final designs visit Gippsland Line Upgrade webpage.
