Vandals cause extensive damage to Cape Paterson toilet blocks resulting in their temporary closure

Bass Coast Shire Council and Victoria Police are responding to a recent vandalism incident that caused extensive damage to three toilet blocks in Cape Paterson placing the facility in temporary closure.

Bass Coast Shire Council is working with Victoria Police around an incident that occurred this weekend. Due to vandalism over the weekend, Cape Paterson toilet amenities have been significantly damaged over three toilet blocks. The First Surf Beach, Brown's Bay and Allen Birt Park Reserve in Cape Paterson were vandalised between the evening of Friday 15 September and the early hours of Saturday 16 September 2023.

Toilet block closures

Due to the significant damage caused at the three toilet blocks they will be closed to the public for an extended period. Council is immediately focussed on obtaining temporary facilities for this area while Victoria Police investigate the incident.
