GippsIand is a diverse natural environment with pristine conditions, ideal for the production of clean fresh produce. With varying climatic conditions and soil types throughout this vast region, the opportunity to create is limited only by one's imagination.

The GippsIand Wine Industry beginning dates to the early part of the Twentieth century with vineyards scattered all over GippsIand as settlers to this new region experimented with different agricultural pursuits. Using techniques learned in their homelands they endeavoured to forge out a living in a new environment. Some succeeded and others failed but unfortunately due to the economic depression and variability of the climate, all vineyards and wineries failed to exist into the middle of this century It was not until the 1970s when wine popularity increased that people began planting vines in this region again. Armed with new technology and grape varieties suited to the GippsIand environment small vineyards started emerging once more. Some 30 licensed wineries now exist in GippsIand with up to another 40 Vineyards supplying grapes to the regions wineries and others farther afield in the Yarra Valley.
