StudentFor the first time ever, GippsTAFE’s Warragul Campus has an international student, Mathanarubi Musnusamy (Rubi) from Malaysia, who is studying an Advanced Diploma in Business (Accounting).

Rubi decided to study in Australia because there were better prospects for her as a student.

"In Australian classes students talk, give opinions and it is not too serious," said Rubi.

"Malaysian classes are very strict and you have to concentrate really hard. Classes here are more relaxed and people help each other."

Rubi says that she enjoys living in a rural area like West Gippsland.

"It is calm and peaceful here, with lots of nice walks. It is interesting because I am learning lots about animals and plants," said Rubi.

Rubi also said that she liked the facilities at the Campus and that the classrooms were nice and comfortable.

After her TAFE course Rubi would like to do a Masters Degree and gain some work experience before she goes back to Malaysia.

Courses are offered to international students in Automotive, Business, Fashion, Hospitality and Tourism, Interior Design and Decoration and Information Technology.

CGIT International offers international students the friendly, safe and affordable lifestyle of regional Victoria.
