A cooperative effort between the Cowes Kindergarten Committee, Bass Coast Shire Council and Toovey Building Solutions means that the Cowes Kindergarten is now accessible to children of all abilities.

Decking has been built at the rear of the building. Two ramps have also been constructed. One ramp provides access to the sandpit and landing. The other provides access to the rest of the play equipment. Toilet and washing facilities have been modified.

The project was funded and managed by Bass Coast Shire Council. The Kindergarten Committee drafted the concept plans for the project. Toovey Building Solutions worked to an incredibly tight deadline to make sure the modifications were completed by the time kindergarten resumed for 2003.
