Gippsland › Latest news › Wellington Local NewsFast Tango Needed To Secure Tickets For Inaugural Mayor’S BallDig out the dinner jackets and polish up the pearls for Wellington’s Inaugural Mayor’s Ball The Mayor’s Ball will be held on Friday 8 November at Sale Memorial Hall with proceeds towards Wellington Entertainment Centre. Sponsored by Mirvac’s Gippsland Centre, Sale and Telstra Countrywide, tickets for the ball are already selling fast, with more than two-thirds of the tables already booked out. Wellington Mayor Malcolm Hole said he was delighted that the response had been so enthusiastic. "I set out to make this ball a formal event that everyone can dress up for and enjoy. Word filtered out and I had tables snapped up before there was time to print the tickets, or finalise the seating plan. "It’s a significant fund-raiser for our new $6 million entertainment centre currently under construction – a chance for the community to have a good time for a very good cause. "The centre will be a top venue for all sorts of activities, making sure everyone in Wellington has access to great entertainment." The ball begins at 7.30pm with dinner and dancing through to 1.30am. The evening will also feature several unusual fundraising ventures, including a "silent" auction, a not-so-silent auction, a straw lotto, door prizes and the treasure of all fund-raising, a chook raffle – with a twist! Tables of eight or ten are available for booking, or organisers will make up tables for numbers less than eight people. Tickets can be booked through Wellington Shire Council Customer Service Centre, Port of Sale Civic Centre, Sale. Source: www.gippsland.com Published by: news@gippsland.com |
