Visit The Bureau Of Meteorology Computer Facility A fantastic opportunity to visit the BOM super computer facility By Helen Gibbins - 3rd September 2002 - Back to News The ACS Gippsland Chapter has organised a fantastic opportunity for interested persons to visit the Bureau of Meteorology's Computer Facility in Melbourne on Wednesday 18th September. The tour will include:
- Visit to National Meteorology and Oceanographic Centre
- Visit to Bureau Victorian Regional Office
- Inspection of Computer Centre (including super computers)
During the two hours, visitors will be introduced to the Heads of each division who will discuss their specialised roles, and engage in informal question and answer sessions.
A mini bus has been organised for confirmed Gippsland Attendees to depart @ 1:45pm from the main entrance of Monash Gippsland. The bus will leave BOM @ 6:15pm and stop for a meal (at own cost) at Fountain Gate Bistro at approx 6:45.
The cost of the tour is a tiny $5.00!
