Reining In The Web

Drouin Pony Club gets online

By Emma Kae - 1st August 2002 - Back to News

The Drouin Pony Club is horsing around online with their brand new website. There are pages upon pages of information about the Club, its members, activities, location and of course, its prized ponies.

Nick Johnson, the webmaster for Drouin Pony Club was inspired to create the website as a promotion tool for the club. "(It allows) for ours and other club's members to obtain information about our club. We organise events throughout the year and need people to have access to up to date information on these events as well as entry forms," he said.

Nick's favourite feature of the website is the photo gallery. When questioned why he said, "I love to see the kids faces and hear their reactions when they can see themselves in action 'live' on the Internet for the world to see."

Nick is no stranger to the Internet, having already built another website for his racecar

As far as the Drouin Pony Club website is concerned, it has eight main sections: About DPC, Our Members, Newsletters, Calendar, Photo Album, Competitions, Library, and Contact Us. It serves to offer people an insight into the Drouin Pony Club, encourage interested people to join, and provide members with current, accurate information.

The sections feature:

- a map of how to get there

- a history of the club

- club member information

- a list of committee members

- a calendar of present and coming events

- a gallery of pony club photos, and more.

The website is simple and straightforward, with links to the main sections located on every page. There is lots of great information for the visitor looking to learn more about the Club, or Australian Pony Clubs in general.

It is encouraging to see so many enthusiastic people enjoying life in the outdoors with their favourite horse, and that the experience can be shared by people all over the world through their website.
