GippsTAFE Attends International Fair and Forum

Meeting with educational counterparts that came from all over the world proves valuable

GippsTAFE’s Fashion Department Coordinator Kath Medew has recently returned from China, where she attended the first China Hebei International Education Fair and International Education Forum which was attended by universities, technical colleges, consultation agencies for overseas studies, language schools, private colleges and secondary vocational and technical schools from all over the world.

Ms Medew was invited by the Hebei Education Department to attend the fair and forum, which was held in the Hebei Province of China.

GippsTAFE had a stand at the fair and during the forum Mrs Medew met with educational counterparts that came from all over the world.

During the forum speeches were made by representatives from educational institutions that covered topics such as the status and role of international cooperation and exchange in higher education, educational systems and development trends in other countries, and characteristics and reform in each country’s education.

CGIT International Manager Li Rongyu said "Having a presence at the fair and forum was very important to the Institute as it demonstrated commitment to our Chinese partners."

"It was also an opportunity to become better known and increase our exposure to the Hebei education sector."

GippsTAFE has been heavily involved in education in the Hebei Province, teaching at Xingtai Vocational and Technical College with the GippsTAFE Fashion, Clothing and Textiles Department looking forward to the first intake to 20 students from Xingtai in 2003.
