Formed in the mid 1990's, Australiaís Grinspoon came to public attention after becoming the inaugural winners of Triple Jís now renowned Un-earthed competition. Following initial airplay, Grinspoon were fast recognised as Australiaís next big thing. High demand for the bandís winning track "Sickfest" gave Grinspoon the opportunity to tour nationally and work on new songs.

Grinspoon toured to support the interest created through Triple J, playing to larger and larger audiences all the time. Following their growing success, the bandís debut album Guide To Better Living was released on September 16, 1997 and debuted nationally at #11. The album went platinum soon after the release of their fourth single Just Ace.

1998 saw Grinspoon make the step to embrace the overseas market when Universal Records of New York picked up the Guide To Better Living album. Grinspoon quickly set sail, touring America with bands such as Creed, Lit, Gobsmack and Anthrax. Whilst overseas, the band recorded two new tracks for the Pushing Buttons EP. Released in September 98, this cd has since gone double platinum.

Hot favourites with both American and Australian audiences, Grinspoon continued their winning streak with the release of Easy, the bandís second full-length album. Featuring the crowd favourite Ready 1, Grinspoon managed to cultivate an even larger fanbase, and went on to play some of Australiaís biggest music festivals, such as the Big Day Out.

Grinspoon have since recorded album number 3, and are touring on the eve of the official release of New Detention. The promotion of this release, and Triple Jís hot favourite single Lost Control will bring Grinspoon to Inferno Traralgon, Wednesday July 3rd.
