Deafness and Hearing Loss Expo at WonthaggiEveryone is welcome at a Deafness and Hearing Loss Expo at the Bass Coast Civic Centre By Bass Coast Shire Council - 24th August 2001 - Back to News Everyone is welcome at a Deafness and Hearing Loss Expo at the Bass Coast Civic Centre, Wonthaggi, on Thursday 30 August 2001. The Expo will be operated by Deaf Infolink – Gippsland and will be open from 11.30-3pm and 5.30pm-9pm. Entry is free, afternoon tea and supper will be provided plus there will be a draw for a lucky door prize.
The Expo will feature a wealth of information and presentations about hearing loss and deafness, and the services available to people in Gippsland.
Mac the Hearing Dog will be at the Expo with his owner, Lyn Polson. Lyn will be talking about her life and how Mac helps her to cope with day to day living.
Free hearing screening will be available for adults. People can also book an Auslan Interpreter to assist them on the day.
