In today’s society, the pressure to be a success in the business world is higher than ever. Whether your business is a high-rise corporation or a basement endeavour, the struggle to the top can appear to be a never-ending ladder.

Previously, the move to become an e-business (Internet based), or to expand operations to become e-commerce friendly has been deemed a disaster, a sure-fire hit and all that lies incompetently in between.

Let me inform you, becoming an e-business success is neither a waste of time nor a quick money making scheme. The rise or fall of your attempt will be the result of the degree of commitment, discipline, organisation and research you apply to your online project.

Initially building the physical attributes of the business – purchasing appropriate equipment, gathering adequate resources to fulfill the project plan (products and services) and setting up the software system – is the easy part.

Next, you need to let your target audience know that you are available for business. You must encourage your market to purchase. Re-assure them that the process is safe and simple. Convince your critic that what you have to offer is desirable, if not favourable to alternatives on the market.

Finally, you must deliver your promises. Distribute your products and/or services on time, within quoted cost, of previously stated quality and with a guarantee that will make your customer feel secure in selecting your business online.

This is not an impossible dream, nor is it a project that offers few rewards. A thriving e-business can offer a new and fulfilling source of income, the Internet medium can open doors to a global market and your business may receive world-wide acclaim for its achievements. Just think of Amazon.com

E-commerce success is reliant upon best practices — both technological and personal. A combination of digital tools and old-fashioned hard work are the most effective methods for developing a thriving e-business. You can get there.
