Thousands of visitors for the Easter break

What the Valley has to offer visitors, from Powerworks to Walhalla

By Emma Kae - 11th May 2000 - Back to News

Over the Easter break, over three times the usual number of tourists visited local attractions within the Latrobe Valley.

Thousands of people braved undesirable weather during the holiday, camping at Walhalla, Lake Narracan and the Hazelwood Pondage.

Obviously the upsurge in tourist figures shows the Latrobe Valley is an important draw-card as a tourist destination, with Walhalla and Powerworks being the most popular attractions.

The number of positive comments left in the Tourist Information Centres show that there is plenty to see and do, and promotion of our local area is going strong with good results.
