E-mail. The portal for Internet communication - efficient, effective, easy.

With e-mail you can send messages, photographs, games, articles, video and audio to the other side of the world – in seconds.

The creation of such a brilliant form of communication caused quite a stir. But now, e-mail has been integrated into everyday life and many could not function without it.

On a global level, e-mail is an essential. It’s absence inconceivable, it’s growth inevitable.

For me, e-mail is a link to my friends and family at home, and the core means of communication with the people I work with. A day without e-mail is like a breakfast without toast.

Have you got e-mail?

You can purchase applications like Microsoft Outlook, programs which provide a total business network. One location used for organizing and managing all your day-to-day information like e-mail, calendars and appointments, contacts and task lists.

However, there are several thousand free web-based e-mail accounts which can provide you with all that you need. With literally thousands upon thousands of domain names to choose from, there is an inbox to house everybody’s messages.

Once you have set up an e-mail account – your key to information, interaction and communication – there are a few things you may want to consider:
  • Getting messages into your inbox
  • Blocking unwanted messages from your inbox
  • Learning some funky things to spice up your messages

  • Getting messages into your inbox

Now is the time to tell everyone that you talk to on a regular basis that you can be reached at your new address. This provides people with another option when they are having difficulty reaching you. Stop wasting time waiting for that phone call! Send an e-mail and the recipient will reply as soon as they have a spare moment, saving you time.

Blocking unwanted messages from your inbox

Spam is mass production, unsolicited e-mail. It clutters up your inbox, fills up your computer space and can infect your computer with nasty viruses. Protect your computer by downloading a spam blockage program. There are hundreds to choose from, readily available online. Try Anti-Spam, a great, free program.

Learning some funky things to spice up your messages

This category is endless. E-mail stationery, interesting attachments, e-mail a friend news… the list goes on. Photos are a popular add-on, and can be copied from an online source or originals of your own. Try PhotoMail, a downloadable shareware program. PhotoMail allows you to easily upload photographs for fast download time and with cool extras – create a slideshow – animate your photos and add your voice as the narrator!

E-mail is a technology that is well worth discovering.
