Price increase in Wellington Shire will help pay for water security to Cowwarr and Rosedale
Increased water security and mains upgrades are planned for Cowwarr and Rosedale in the 2018-2023 Price Submission, highlighting improvements to Wellington Shire's water and wastewater network, enhancing reliability and infrastructure strength.
Increased water security for Cowwarr and Rosedale and mains upgrades are on the cards in the 2018-2023 Price Submission period. Managing director Sarah Cumming said the works would help bolster water and wastewater network strength and reliability in Wellington Shire. "These upgrades across Wellington over the next four years will complement large infrastructure projects we've recently completed."

Ms Cumming also said, "Last year we finished work on Dawson St pump station in Sale and in 2021 we completed a new pump station at the Port of Sale. "In 2022 we also secured water for Glenmaggie and Coongulla."
Ms Cumming said work would take place over the next three years to secure water for Cowwarr and Rosedale, with the construction of a new pipeline to connect the towns to the Traralgon water system. "We'll also be upgrading our treated water storages in Sale, Heyfield, Seaspray and Coongulla by replacing the liners and covers on existing basins. "
"Water and sewer mains across the shire will also be improved to make sure our network can continue to operate effectively into the future. Much of this work is taking place right now, with crews working in Sale, Maffra and Stratford. Customers can keep up to date with upgrades and maintenance works in their area by visiting the current works page on our website," she said.
