Grade 4-6 students at St Mary's Primary School Yarram impressed Federal MP Darren Chester with their knowledge, asking insightful questions about government and seeking funding for their basketball court.
Grade 4, 5 and 6 students at St Mary's Primary School Yarram had certainly done their due diligence in researching their local MP ahead of Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester's recent visit to discuss Australia's political system.

Mr Chester said, "While they listened respectfully to me talk about the different levels of government, my role in the Federal Parliament, and similar topics, they were keen to know if I could help them get funding for their failing basketball court,"
"With a few budding politicians in the group, I had to be on my toes to answer this and many other questions. Visiting schools across Gippsland is always a pleasure and is an excellent opportunity to engage with our future leaders," Mr Chester said.
