The Presenter

Kim Styles

Kim Styles

Kim is a Computing Lecturer with the Gippsland School of Computing and Information Technology, teaching programming, information systems, e-commerce technology, and communications to undergraduate and graduate students. As well as her role as an academic Kim also consults to business, government and communities in e-commerce and Internet development programs.

Recently, Kim has played evaluation and development roles in the NetWorking Dog Project, a major e-commerce promotion and education program for rural communities, as well as completing projects for City of Latrobe Shire Council, Gippsland International, and Maffra Area International. Prior to working at Monash Kim was a management and process consultant to the Victorian Ministry of Education.

At Monash University, Kim is the Course Director for the Bachelor of Computing, and a member of the University’s Academic Board. She has been the recipient of several major grants for the development of innovative educational materials, and for research into multimedia and telecommunications support of education. Research interests include multimedia and e-commerce information systems, virtual organisations and Internet and telecommunications support of business functions.
