Baw Baw Shire Council pop-up session is coming to Labertouche 18 November 2021

Baw Baw Shire Council is heading to Labertouche on Thursday 18 November for a Council Pop-up session. All residents are invited to come along and speak to their Councillors and senior Council team members about the issues that matter to them.

Community members will be required to check in via a QR code and to wear a face mask indoors unless they have a lawful exemption

Face-to-face with councillors

By visiting people where they live, the Council Pop-up program aims to make it easier for residents in areas further from major townships to engage directly with council. It's a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with councillors and staff to share ideas, raise concerns, or ask questions.

• When: 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Thursday 18 November
• Where: Labertouche Hall, 440 Labertouche Road, Labertouche

Please note all Council Pop-Ups are delivered in accordance with DHHS regulations and the orders of the Chief Health Officer. The CHO's directive is that everyone who attends a community facility must show proof of double-vaccination, or a valid medical exemption, accompanied by photo ID.

Community members can be assured that all employees and representatives of Council in attendance at the Pop-Up will be fully vaccinated. The next Council Pop-up in the program is planned for Noojee on 2 December 2021. Stay tuned for details.

Feedback to be a better council

Mayor Cr Danny Goss said, "I'd like to personally invite all residents in Labertouche to come along and have a chat with us on the 18th of November. Positive or negative, your feedback helps us make better informed decisions. If there's an issue that's on your mind, we'd love the chance to hear about it and discuss it with you."

Ensuring council accessibility

Deputy Mayor Cr Michael Leaney said, "While we always encourage residents to reach out to us at any point, these sessions provide another opportunity for council to meet with residents face to face. Council pop-ups are particularly valuable for our smaller communities and ensure council is accessible no matter where you're based. I invite you all to join myself and fellow Councillors in Labertouche and look forward to having a chat."

Encouraging all interested locals

Cr Keith Cook said, "The candid conversations we have with people at these sessions are so valuable. They are a real opportunity to dig into specifics with residents and hear the substance of their views, ideas and concerns. From a council perspective, the insights we get are pure gold. I encourage all interested locals from the Labertouche area to take part."
