Additional $150,000 toward the Inverloch Sound Shell project.

Bass Coast Shire Council has committed an additional $150,000 toward the Inverloch Sound Shell project.

This follows the successful $200,000 grant towards the project through the state government’s Pick My Project Initiative, and an initial $45,000 from Bas Coast Council.

The project is a community initiative, led by the Lions Club of Inverloch, who together with Australian Lions Foundation is contributing $30,000. The Club is working to raise an additional $146,000 from the community and local business.

Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari, said that the project is a great example of collaboration and demonstrates what can be achieved when community organisations and Council work together.

"This project would only be an idea if it weren’t for the leadership and proactivity of the Inverloch Lions Club," Cr Tessari said.

"We are excited to be working with the Club on the Sound Shell. It will be a fantastic community asset and really enhance the events held at The Glade in Inverloch."

The Inverloch Sound Shell will be located in The Glade where many community events and concerts are currently held. It will provide a permanent and functional stage with access to power and an acoustic roof to help the sound travel out to the audience.

The Sound Shell will be available to all community events such as food and wine festivals, music concerts, local schools, open air movies, and the regular community farmer’s market.
