Your bin services are changing. From 1 July 2026, food scraps can go into your green-lidded bin. After collection, they’ll be transformed into high-quality compost for farms, parks and gardens at a facility in Morwell. During May and June, Council will provide residents with a kitchen caddy for collecting food scraps, along with a roll of compostable liners, to support households through the adjustment period.

FOGO service begins: green-lidded bin collects food and garden scraps weekly; red-lidded general waste collected fortnightly

Steven Ulula Parker painting

Steven Ulula Parker Painting at Council Customer Service - Council recently installed Djambana (Gathering Place) in our Customer Service Counter area as part of a project that intends to create safe, welcoming public spaces for our First Nations community.

The purchase of Steven Ulula Parker's artwork was made possible through a grant from the Gippsland Aboriginal Cultural Safety Project, an initiative focused on creating respectful, inclusive environments in health and community service spaces.

The beautiful painting depicts a gathering place with a campfire, with people coming together from all sides, and a background incorporating the colours of local land and waters.
