A new lease of life on the outlook of webdesign

Scape.com blows a breath of fresh air into the world of webdesign. The clouds scatter, the dust disappears and the result is an attractive, interactive website.

Scape, the newest entertainment central on the net provides the latest news, hot gossip, daily chat, forums, reviews, competitions, films, music, the arts, charts, animations, even horoscopes. Phew. All in a day’s work.

“At Scape, entertainment defines us ... it's in our veins. In search of the most rhythmic-beat, the most compelling vision, the perfect love and a social life to die for, the journey has begun.”

Provocative, aware, honest and addictive. Each page oozes special effects and camera tricks in an eye catching display of movement. The content is fresh and interesting with enough updates to keep the most habitual surfer content.

Forget trying to revive your life with a powerpoint and a glass of water, all you need is right here. Go forth and frolic. See the site @ www.scape.com, or simply click here for the chauffeur driven expedition.

This intensive design was created using a program called Flash. A popular choice for lending interest to a page, Flash (a member of the Macromedia software series) shows what the web can be.

If you are thinking of adding a little Flash to spice up your website, there are a few things to remember:

  • While these funky attractions add a whole new dimension to the appearance of the site, they do take a lot longer to load up. Many Internet users will become frustrated with waiting, and move on to somewhere else, before they even see your design.

  • Flash is not practical for any site which requires a high degree of useability. Websites which were constructed to serve a particular purpose – such as e-mail hosting – are wasting their time with Flash as it limits the effectiveness of what the site is attempting to achieve.

  • Any Flash production takes time and substantial effort to create. Does the outcome really outweigh the trouble involved in the foreground work?

Despite the apparent drawbacks, implementing Flash does have its place and can be an incredibly effective means of communicating your message to your online audience.

Have a look at Flash here.
